On September 19, 2023, the Second Vocational Skills Competition of the People’s Republic of China, sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and hosted by the Tianjin Municipal Government, concluded successfully at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Tianjin).
This competition covers a total of 109 competition projects in six major fields: transportation and logistics, structure and construction technology, manufacturing and engineering technology, information and communication technology, creative arts and fashion, and social and personal services. A total of 36 delegations from various provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) across the country, the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and sectors such as housing and construction, transportation, machinery, and light industry were attracted to participate. 4,045 players and 3,270 referees participated. Compared with the first edition, this competition has added 20 new professional and digital technology skills categories. Different from some traditional skill positions, these new professional competitions span a wide range of disciplines and integrate many technologies. Most of the highly educated contestants in this competition are concentrated in the fields of new professions and digital technology skills, which not only indicates the general trend of the integrated development of technical skills, but also The increasing demand for the improvement of technical skills of talents with different educational levels also reflects the new achievements and changes in China’s economic and social development.
